- The students chose right fit book for themselves based on the IPICK strategy.

Interest- am i interested in this book?
Comprehend- do I understand what I am reading?
Know- do I know most of the words.
Read to Someone
- The students sit EEKK (elbow elbow knee knee) while reading to someone.
-They should check understanding using checkmarks, I read You read, or read two different books.
Work on Writing
- The students write in different forms and genres. They can choose their own topics. They must underline words they don't know how to spell.
Work on Words
- Students use fun activities to practice their spelling words and sight words. They can use magnetic letters, stamps, wikisticks, sand writing and spelling cards!
Listen to Reading
Students listen to books being read on CD players or on websites on the computer.
